Melinda Holmes (Bentley) graduated from Belfast Central School in 2006.  She then attended GCC and Empire State College, earning an Associates in applied science for Physical Therapist Assistant and a Bachelors in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health. After college, she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for WNY Physical and Occupational Therapy, an aide for the Springville League, an EasyTech for Staples, and a respite and recreational worker for children and individuals with special needs (SASI). However, Holmes currently works at home, tending her four children: of one biological child and three foster children. She’s applying to UB for a Masters in Social Work. She hopes to become a therapist, specifically dealing with children.  Melinda offers this advice to students: “I think setting goals is a huge factor in achieving success. Start with small goals and work your way up, and never stop dreaming, because someday you will be living your dream. Know that there will be trying times and that those times will pass. Never stop striving to improve yourself.”
