Blood Drive a Success

Blood Drive a Success

Thank you for all of the community members, staff, and students who were eligible and donated at our blood drive, hosted by the National Honor Society.  The Red Cross offers one of our seniors a scholarship for the school’s participation as a blood drive host.  We had a very good turnout with 30 units donated. To give you an insight as to how much this helps, a cardiovascular surgery uses five units of blood. Someone with leukemia needs, on average, eight units of blood per week.  It is obvious that the blood is needed and in large amounts. It is always nice to see young students donating for the first time to make a difference in the world.  Let’s try to get 40 units next time!
