Cast of P&P Attends Fillmore’s The Sound of Music

On Wednesday, March 22nd, the cast of Pride and Prejudice took a field trip to Fillmore Central to watch a matinee performance of The Sound Of Music. It was a great opportunity for our cast to set our own goals by seeing other youth actors. Seeing another performance was a team bonding activity for our P&P team. It was nice to support their cast by watching the performance as well.  The Sound of Music is about a nun named Maria in 1930’s Austria who questions her life in the convent. The Reverend Mother sends her on a mission to be the governess of Georg Von Trapp and his seven children. The children are very unhappy, being in such a strict home and resentful of their father who is always away and hires many governesses. She brings much, fun, joy and singing into their lives. Maria and the Captain find themselves falling in love and get married. The happy ending is disrupted when we find out that Germany is taking over Austria and the captain is going to be drafted into the war. The story ends when the family escapes Austria to Switzerland so Von Trapp does not have to fight against his own country.  The cast performed well and we enjoyed the performance!
