The Belfast Beacon has made many advancements throughout the years. Recently, we received a $1,050 grant check from the Allegany Endowment Fund managed by the Allegany County Area Foundation. The grant money will be used to help the development and publication of The Belfast Beacon website and our magazine A Handful of Stars. As a member of the staff, I am thankful that we are now able to expand and publicize more of our work. Ms. Preston, our advisor, said “Student achievement in all areas (sports, academics, community service, and more) is documented through The Beacon. Personal experiences are shared and reinforce common humanity in a public way. Students, staff, and community members often provide positive feedback to these publications.”   Thanks to the Allegany County Area Foundation for supporting students!
