It’s the Little Things

Its the Little Things

Have you ever really wanted something? Very recently, I wanted to get ducklings. So, I did. They are adorable: who wouldn’t want one? Just looking at pictures of them online is enough for you to fall in love with them. I knew that they would be a huge responsibility to take on. This did not make me change my mind at all however: I was going to get these cute little birds one way or another.

After multiple calls to see if the ducks finally were in, I drove two hours away to Bradford, PA to get my four little ducklings. Shortly after I brought them home, they all received their names: Daisy, April, Penny, and Lucy. It’s been just a little over a month since I got them and they are now almost fully grown. Every day when I get home from school, I clean out their pen and refill their water and food tank. This takes me about forty minutes to complete everyday. Yes, they take a lot of work and patience, they are one of my best stress relievers. Every time I flop one over on its back and rub its belly, it not only makes them happy but it also makes me so happy. Recently, I have moved them into a bigger pen down by my grandparents’ creek and they absolutely love it.  Trust me when I say that it’s the littlest things that can make your day.  So if there’s even the slightest chance of getting something that will make you happy, risk it. Life’s too short and happiness is too rare. It will always be the little things which bring you your happiest moments.
