On Tuesday, May 16th, Belfast Central held its annual Senior art show. Each year, the senior art majors display their art from throughout their high school and eighth grade years of art. This is a chance for community members, teachers, and other students to appreciate their work. During the art show, each of the seniors presents the piece of artwork that they chose to leave in the school building’s art gallery for years to come. This year’s art majors were MacKenzie Hamer, Tyler West, Sarah Marsh, and Christian Babbitt.  Mrs Lyman gave each of the seniors boutonnieres to wear during the show. She also surprised us with a gift bag. After we presented our gallery contribution, she presented us with a sketchbook with a note describing each of the students as artists inside the front cover. Mrs. Lyman thanked Richard Hall and the board members for all of their support through her 33 years at Belfast Central. I want to thank Mrs. Lyman for the art techniques and heart to heart talks we’ve had over the years. This was a special art show for our seniors because it was also Mrs. Lyman’s last before she retires. She has had a large impact on our lives and we appreciate her teaching and kindness over the years.
