Students, teachers, and peers are honored to recognize Michaela Pastorius as the 2017 Salutatorian. Michaela’s average is 96.42% and she will graduate with 26 college credits! Michaela has been the president of her class for four consecutive years and played softball, basketball, and soccer. She has served her community by participating in the town cleanup, NHS blood drives, ringing the Salvation Army bell, participating in the pop can drive, and more. Michaela also works at the Aces Bed and Breakfast as a waitress. She has been a great resource for the school and the town of Belfast.

           Michaela Pastorius has received the NHS scholarship, the Clara M. Savaree scholarship, the Belva A. Waite Memorial scholarship, and the Student Assistance Scholarship. After completing her senior year, Michaela plans to attend JCC for nursing in the fall of 2017. She will attend JCC at no cost for two full years due to her academic achievement. To prepare for her future, Michaela participated in the rigorous New Visions Medical Program, where she did clinical rotations at Jones Memorial Hospital.

“You can be anything you can be Rooster, don’t let anything hold you back” (Rooster is a nickname her dad gave her when she was a baby because she was always up at the crack of dawn.)
