While the Belfast Boys Soccer team has clinched the number 1 seed going into Friday’s game, let’s recap how they got here. On October 6th, the boys welcomed the Scio Tigers into town. The boys were eager to play and the stakes were higher on Belfast’s homecoming night. After falling behind 1-0 early, Adam Enders buried the equalizer goal with twenty minutes left in the first half to tie the score at one off a feed from Hunter Enders. Adam was not done yet though, as he gave Belfast the lead a few minutes into the second half, and later, Cox would add to the lead as the boys came away victorious. Not only did the boys win on Homecoming NIght, but they also won their third straight Allegany County Division Two title. McCumiskey stopped three shots.

Houghton came to town on October 10th and the boys went right to work, when Alex Enders fed Adam a pass to the goal and gave Belfast a 1-0 lead. The boys continued putting pressure on the Panthers in the second half, adding two more goals, another by Adam and one by Hunter Enders, to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 victory, improving their record to 14-1 and 9-0 in league.

On October 12th, the boys celebrated senior night, honoring their seven seniors (six players and their bookkeeper) before their game against Whitesville, which resulted in a 10-0 win. Adam scored twice with two assists, Cox scored twice and added an assist, Caiazza netted two, and Hunter, Kevin, Andrew and Jason scored while Kevin and Shane Preston split time in goal with a combined six saves. The boys received a bye and will play #8 Houghton Friday at 6:30. Admission price is $5. Come support the boys.
