On November 9th, 2017, seven new JNHS and NHS inductees were added to the thirteen current members. The inductees were Kyle Comstock,  Alicia Borden, Jaiden Enders, Adison Male, Stephen Struckmann, Cierra Wallace, and Matthew Weaver. They were considered for JNHS and NHS for their overall average of ninety or higher and dedication to helping the others.

The ceremony started with Mr. Struckmann and new JNHS member Stephen Struckmann playing music for the audience’s enjoyment. We then sang the Star Spangled Banner and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Ms. Preston welcomed everyone as they awaited the ceremony. Gabriel Lindo, Julia Lindo, Ethan Blocho, and MacKenzie Hurd gave speeches about Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character, respectively.

Then, current members tapped the inductees. They came up, got their certificate and keychain, signed their name, and took their seats. We then lit candles and recited the NHS pledge. We closed, took pictures, ate cake, and talked and congratulated fellow members. NHS is a great honor and I encourage students to work to attain this distinction. Again, congratulations to our new NHS members!
