another poem I’ll never finish
Tyler West
my English teacher
once told us
“If you love a poem enough
You’ll read it over and over
Again until you understand it”
i thought of you
Memories
Tim Merriam
Doctor Seuss
And his big tall boots
His fox in socks
And green eggs and ham
He’s been a big help
For me and my friends
Always encouraging
And pushing us forward
So what better to do
Than put you in our minds
As our motto
Moving forward in time
Getting bigger, growing up
We’ll never forget
Reading your books
As real little kids
With funny rhymes
And big words
We couldn’t pronounce
So here’s our new motto
for growing up and moving out:
“Sometimes you’ll never know
the value of a moment
until it becomes a memory”
