School gives me something to do instead of sitting around and doing nothing. In order to get anywhere in life, you need an education. I like U.S. History the most because it is interesting to me and it doesn’t bore me.

I plan on going to college at Alfred for two years because I have to finish my treatments for leukemia. Then I want to go to Jamestown JCC for another two years. I would like to major in graphic design. I plan on getting financial aid and scholarships. Also, whatever pocket money my parents have to pay for my college fund.

I respect my parents the most because they give me pretty much everything I need. If I want something, sometimes they give it to me. They make sure I have everything I need no matter what because they know that is their job. I couldn’t do that at this age, so I respect them for what they do for me.

-The American Teenager Project was inspired by a book and online nationwide project by photographer Robin Bowman and educator Julia Hollinger that collects interviews with adolescents in order to respectfully share their stories and build community.  BCS students in grades 10-12 recorded interviews with one another and used those to write profiles of their classmates. We will publish these throughout the school year.
